Secret Garden framelit disappointment!

Finally had the chance to use my secret garden stamp set and famelits that i bought in the bundle from the spring mini...what a disappointment!  This was my first time using framelits....I didn't really have a hard time keeping them in the right spot to cut through my big shot...but they don't cut evenly around the stamp images....it leaves white on some of the edges...but not all of them so it's not uniform.  I spent quite a while this afternoon turning the framelits all different angles over my stamped image to see if I couldn't get the white edge to be more uniform around all of the edges of the flowers!  So not impressed with these...I have hesitated to buy the framelits..and now regretting it.  Anyone else have this problem?

  • Does SU! exchange them when you get a bad set??

    • hi jamie, typically su! is wonderful about making exchanges or sending out replacement product whenever we have issues with products performing or when we receive defective product in our shipments.  i feel they always try to make any of these situations 'right'.  hope this helps ~ smiles, karen ;-)

      • Awesome!  I was going to call tomorrow!  Thank you kindly for your input Karen!  I really appreciate it!

  • I absolutely LOVE my Secret Garden stamp set and framelits!  I haven't had a single issue with them and I've used them A LOT.  Here are a couple of cards I made last weekend with them:

I haven't found them difficult to use or line up and am thrilled not to have to fussy cut all those flowers!  I hope you will keep trying...the end result is so worth it!

    • Your framelits look like they cut evenly...mine did not.  I spent a lot of time with them and have decided that mine are defective and so exchanged them for something else from the spring catty.  I think it would be a neat set as apparent by your cards....if they cut nice and even like that!

    • Can you show a picture of the same flower that I showed a few posts ago so I can compare.  (Just the biggest flower)  It's hard to tell in your pics because you are covering up half the flower and that might be the part that is off for me.  If your's is indeed perfect, then there is something wrong with mine.  I look forward to seeing your picture.  Thanks!

      • Here is a photo of the inside of the second card where I used a single of the largest flower.  3246775175?profile=original

  • Let us know when you get your replacements. I would like to know if this was just a bad lot before I buy these.

    Thanks.

    • Hi Darrah,

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.  I honestly don't think there is anything wrong with the framelits.  If you're a perfectionist, this set is not for you (or me...LOL)  The biggest flower doesn't line up perfectly no matter how much time you spend fidgting with it and I have to have the exact same ridge around all my stamps and this is not exact.  More space between the stamp and framelit one one side than the other.  I tried 5 times to overcorrect it and it just got worse.  You can imagine what customers would say at a class, "mine is off, mine doesn't look right, etc."  Not something I need to stress about in front of a class.  With that said, if you don't stamp on white or vanilla cardstock then its not as noticable.  So I changed my SAS card to embossing on colored cardstock (although I'm still not 100% happy with it) I don't think I'll have any complainers.

Now, I've only tried one and gave up on the rest, so that's not to say that the rest don't work fine - I just couldn't be bothered.  I will attach a picture of the card I made and the flower is when I tried to overcorrect to make it better - not so much!  If you're happy with the way it turned out on the card, then get it - if you're like me and most of my customers, they won't be happy with it.
